Our Half-Day Camp Themes
In the Garden - Ages 4 & 5
A fun and hands-on introduction to basic environmental science. Your budding scientist will explore how living things grow and how they interact with the environment around them. They will discover how, why and where things grow, how weather affects our gardens, the basic science of seeds all while exploring leaves, flowers and the creatures that live in our gardens.
Junior Science Explorers - Grades K - 2nd
Decipher the world all around us in this exciting camp designed just for your young scientist! Campers will develop their earth awareness and explore this world as junior naturalists before heading for space as junior astronauts. Campers will also explore just why their big toe is important and how to find their center of gravity when they investigate the science of sports!
Imagination Academy - Grades K - 2nd
Discover, create and play! All aboard the imagination train as your young scientist takes a journey around the world of science. Join in the fun as we make our own inventions, learn to cast fossils in the domain of the dinosaurs, explore the vastness of space and create a comet, watch the pull of gravity with parachutes and feel the heaviness of the air pressure all around us.
Moving with Science - Grades K - 2nd
Join the Mad Scientist in a fun-filled exploration of how science keeps our world moving. Take a close-up look at a wide array of scientific disciplines including chemistry, biology, engineering, physics and optics. Take apart owl pellets to see what they cannot digest! Join a team of camper engineers and build bridges, domes, cubes and pyramids.
Rockets & the Science of Flight - Grades K - 2nd
Space, rockets, planes and flight... a little bit of everything for a rockin' good time! Our most popular camp, younger campers have a blast learning the hows and whys of aerodynamics by studying all things that fly: planes, kites, hot air balloons, helicopters and of course rockets.
Rocket Lab - Grades 2nd - 6th
3...2...1...Blast Off! This camp is rockets, rockets and more rockets! Build and launch a rocket everyday as you learn all about, you guessed it, rockets! Your child is in for an action-packed week focused entirely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight. Campers will learn the importance of teamwork in launching rockets and will have the opportunity to try their hand at each role.
Brixology LEGO® Engineering - Grades 2nd - 6th
Brixology sets the foundation for our next generation of makers! Learn about the exciting field of engineering as a Mad Scientist guides you and your team to accomplish engineering-themed projects using LEGO (R) bricks and other materials. Aerospace, structural, water, learn about engineering the Mad Science way!
Creative Contraptions! - Grades 2nd - 6th
Junior inventors go on a journey of discovery from the real life inventions of daVinci, Edison and the Wright brothers to Isaac Asimov's dreams of future inventions. With a little bit of ingenuity they'll construct catapults and forts and then lay siege, fabricate innovative flying contraptions, design their own gizmo prototypes and will even assemble a working light saber!
Chemistry & Biology Blast! - Grades 2nd - 6th
Start this fast-paced tour of chemical reactions by examining the building blocks of the human body beginning with our cells. Next, we examine the role of our vital organs by making a body portrait. Finish the week with a bang creating some amazing chemical reactions of our own! Make a lemon powered battery, find out how aspirin works and witness some frenetic fireworks.
Secret Agent Lab - Grades 2nd - 6th
Look out 007 - the Mad Science Secret Agent Lab is on the case! Step into the shoes of a spy in action from decoding messages, to metal detecting and using night vision goggles. Campers will have the opportunity to check out other spy equipment and even create their own edible messages learning how to communicate stealthily just like real spies.
Scene of the Crime - Grades 2nd - 6th
Blood spatter and brain matter, oh my! Not for the weak-hearted, this camp will let your scientist's inner CSI scream! Enter the crime scene and see if your team can solve the crime by observing, interrogating and analyzing the evidence that you collect. Children experience how science is used to collect, analyze and understand what evidence is telling us about a crime scene.
Underground Explorers - Coming Soon!
Kids learn about archaeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities! They discover ancient civilizations and the tools and artifacts they used in everyday life! They also study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils. Each class also includes a make and take-home project, like a fossil reproduction, an amber time capsule, and coins from around the world!
